Wednesday 11th March, at sea which is fairly calm 21 degrees
If yesterday was a beautiful morning, the sight that greeted us as we emerged on the promenade deck was even more stunning.

Glorious!
I also took some pool photographs, just because I could.

Please note how empty they are …
However – after this wander I trotted off to breakfast, got myself ready for ukulele at 9.00 and … there was no-one there! I went back to the room to check that for some reason ukulele was ‘off’, but no The Horizon – the P and O daily newsletter – said that there was ukulele at 9.00. Back I went to see, but still no one in the Masquerade Theatre where ukulele is held. In fact I went back twice more and then gave up and decided to do more some more walking, but slowly so that I did not make myself hot and bothered before Bridge.
It was when I was walking for the second time that I asked someone the time – and, guess what, it was an hour earlier than we thought! So, I wasn’t going to ukulele class at 09:00, I was actually going at 08:00!!
On checking the Horizon note to say we put the clocks forward I saw that it gave us notice a day early. The clocks go forward at 2,00 a.m. THURSDAY. So that is why no-one was at ukulele – I was an hour early!!! Just putting my paranoia away (I had been thinking it had been cancelled but no-one had told me) I decided to regroup and try again later. I have to admit that I considered not sharing this technical hitch with my diary, but felt it would not be honest. 😇 So here I am ‘fessing all. I was never very good with detail!! That is why I always needed a good secretary …
So, when I did eventually get to ukulele, things didn’t go much better to be honest. Lynn – my ukulele friend, now fully recovered from her bout of ill health – has a lady sitting next to her right who consistently sings out of tune and I have acquired a new man sitting to my left who has an out of tune ukulele! It isn’t good!
I think everyone was confused at Bridge this morning on ‘reversals’ and ‘boundaries’. So much so that one man fell asleep, one chap Matt and I espied counted the empty pages in his notebook and teacher got shirty because everyone was asking questions to try to understand what she was saying. I think it might be the planets…..
As I said yesterday, I think, we are trying to set up a gathering of our Bridge playing chums to drink the bottle of pisco sour we bought all the way back in Chile and then have a meal together. To date things have not been looking good for this. The Beach House where we met the other night is fully booked and you cannot book the Glass House in advance. Should have thought of it earlier.
We had a light lunch and then back to the cabin to make up for the hour that we lost this morning with a few zzzz’s. We then went our separate ways – Keith to watch the football and makes notes for his novel and me to do a bit of sunbathing and my crossword. An afternoon shower sent the sunbatheratti scattering. I do love it when that happens! I completed the crossword I was doing – I was under cover – and then sauntered back to the room to finish the novel I was reading.
The sun was setting as we were walking to dinner.

So we saw both sunrise and sunset today – not something we usually manage!! We will try again tomorrow – the clocks are due to be put forward tonight. Honestly!!
